
Trevor is a highly experienced analytical chemist, Public Analyst and Consultant on a wide range of disciplines. He has held the official appointments of Public Analyst and Agricultural Analyst in Wales since 1976.
Trevor commenced his career in the late 1950's as a microanalytical chemist in the chemical research laboratories of the international pharmaceutical company, Pfizer.
In the early 1960's he moved to the Kent County Council Public Analysts Laboratory as a graduate chemist during which time he conducted analysis as diverse as pesticide residues in foods to forensic toxicology for the HM Kent Coroner.
In 1975, Trevor gained his Mastership of Chemical Analysis in foods, drugs and waters and subsequently joined the Practice of Herbert J.Evans & Partners in Carmarthen, West Wales, where he was elected as Deputy Public Analyst and Agricultural Analyst, Consultant and Scientific Advisor to the then Counties of Dyfed and Powys. He was also appointed as Prescription Drug Analyst for forty-nine Family Practitioner Committees throughout the UK under the auspices of the National Health Service. In 1977, he was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
In 1978, he took charge of the Practice and all the Official Appointments, when his Partner retired. He has built up a formidable body of knowledge in the chemistry and legal aspects of food and animal feeding stuffs composition and analysis, potable waters, effluents, trade wastes, in addition to items associated with consumer protection and the Trades Description Act. In addition, he has over the years acquired an expertise in food complaint examinations and microscopy.
Trevor has had many years of experience in blood and urine alcohol analysis under the Road Traffic and Road Offenders Act. He regularly performs calculations for Solicitors on aspects of drink and drug offences and has provided Expert Evidence in Courts of Law in a considerable number of Cases.
He has substantial experience as expert witness on all the aforementioned activities.
In 1999, MTD acquired the Practice of Herbert J.Evans & Partners. Both he and Martin Dalling were appointed as Divisional Directors of the Public Analyst Division.
In 2004, Trevor was appointed as the Director of Chemical Laboratories, overseeing all activities in Cardiff AES and the Cross Hands Divisions of the Company.
