Chemist and Surveyor (Houston)

With a BSc in Geochemistry, Max worked for an oil major becoming an Analytical Chemist, conducting routine and non-routine GC testing of refinery streams, product and chemical analysis, waste water analysis and metals analysis. He also developed new test procedures, test methods and investigated contamination of refined petroleum products. He moved to Saudi Arabia as a Petroleum Inspector where he conducted quality control procedures on export cargoes, and performed pre loading/after loading inspections and analysis of crude oil, petroleum products, LPG and chemical cargoes, as well as advising on contamination and degradation issues. As a Chemical Superintendent for cargo inspection companies, Max represented multi-national traders and petroleum interests in an on site capacity for various custody transfers. He formulated procedures to increase efficiency for refinery/shipping/pipeline transfers with respect to quality and quantity and advised on the shipping and blending of petrochemicals. He became Technical Manager investigating claims relating to the marine insurance industry, before joining MTD, where he continues his work in the investigation, mitigation and prevention of contamination claims. He is an experienced expert witness.
