Mineral Chemists and Geologists
We are currently looking to fill vacancies for consultants in the Dry Bulk Cargo Division of our Cardiff, London, Rotterdam, Singapore, Houston and Melbourne offices.
The role primarily involves the investigation of incidents concerning the carriage of dry bulk cargoes by sea. The consultants in our bulk cargo division provide technical advice and guidance on issues including sampling, analysis, carriage conditions and quality problems associated with a variety of bulk commodities including coals, cokes, ores, concentrates and agricultural materials. Investigations typically require attendance at the site of incidents worldwide, the provision of onsite incident management and investigative services. Post incident analysis will often utilise the analytical capabilities of our independent laboratory at our Cardiff head office.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent problem solving skills (both practical and theoretical), and be able to record, report, and present results to experts and non-technical clients. Candidates should be able to support their findings when subject to critical analysis by their peers, and be able to present those findings in court.
Candidates would enjoy a wide variety of work and should be willing and available to travel worldwide at short notice. The successful candidates will have a suitable science or engineering bachelor’s degree and preferably a related doctorate. Previous experience in the bulk cargo surveying or consultancy industry would be advantageous.
Recruitment will be by interview only and competitive terms and conditions will be discussed on application.
Interested parties should request an application form by email from firstname.lastname@example.org and return it to the same address, enclosing a detailed curriculum vitae.
